Forming a common pattern language for conveying the structures and mechanisms of our architectures allows us to intelligibly reason about them. Its purpose is to ensure a consistent user experience. The DPL is an evolving set of design patterns built collaboratively and tested with the people who use our products.
Formally codifying these solutions and their relationships lets us successfully capture the body of knowledge which defines our understanding of good architectures that meet the needs of their users. The digital pattern library (DPL) is a resource to support University staff who are designing or developing new web pages and other digital outputs.
